Mini Maker Faire

July 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Coeur d’Alene Mini Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious
people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From
engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for
these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, and projects. We call it the
Greatest Show (& Tell) in Coeur d’Alene – a family-friendly showcase of
invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. Part science fair and part
county fair, there are more than 200 Maker Faires that take place all over
the globe. This spectacular event celebrating the maker movement is
organized by Gizmo-Cda and co-hosted by the Community Library Network,
University of Idaho and North Idaho College. Admission to the event is FREE.
Glimpse the future and get inspired!

There will be 50+ interactive demonstrations, activities and workshops
scheduled throughout the day both inside Gizmo’s 20,000 square foot
makerspace and outside on the North Idaho College campus. Some of the many
activities include: use the machines at Gizmo, cosplay, play with
electronics, do engineering, learn about 3D Printing, work with leather,
make jewelry, learn printmaking, use an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, build mutant
toys, virtual reality, do art projects, carve a rock, learn about felting,
sew a project, science projects and play giant games. Some of the many
participating makers include Say Roar Studio, VR CDA, Coeur d’Alene Arts and
Cultural Alliance, Robosprout, Art Salvage, Cultured Mama, Bear Paw Quilting
and Bernina and Irv’s Jewelry and Rock Lapidary.

Food vendors and live music will be available all day from 10 AM – 5 PM.
Artists that will play at the event stage include Ren E & Davis, Matt
Russell, Ethereal in E, Hobo Hangout and Current Flow. This free event for
the community is sponsored by Idaho Forest Group, STCU, University of Idaho,
Community Library Network, Berg Manufacturing, Tedder Industries, Washington
Trust Bank, North Idaho College, Make: Magazine, Octofox Creative and
Century Publishing.
