Protect the Clearwater: Forest Plan Workshop & Open House
January 22 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pmFree
You have a unique opportunity to help protect the wild backcountry and free-flowing rivers of the Clearwater Basin. For the first time in over 30 years, the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest is updating its management or “forest plan.” Among other things, the Forest Service is considering recommendations for new wilderness areas and new wild and scenic rivers.
Sadly, the Forest Service is also considering opening new areas to snowmobile use by carving out portions of the proposed Great Burn Wilderness. The agency has scheduled a series of open houses to gather public input. ICL and other conservation groups are joining forces to organize our own presentations in advance to educate interested members and volunteers on these topics.
